After leaving Hot Springs NP we headed for Morgan City Louisiana where we planned to stay 2 nights. Our campsite was next to a large lake (lots of bugs). We were surprised at the number if golf carts used in the campground. This seemed the primary form of transportation within the park (more so than bikes or scooters).
Spotted this little free library at the park office.
Dean and I set up chairs in the lake to sit and soak our feet under the huge cypress trees.
The water was very shallow and warm in the lake.
Lots of Spanish moss draped from the branches provided homes for birds.
